Startup Grind is a global startup community designed to educate, inspire, and connect entrepreneurs.

As part of the Female Entrepreneurs Month, Adi Soffer Teeni, Facebook Israel General Manager, was invited to speak at the community's conference at LeumiTech.

Yifat Oron, LeumiTech CEO, interviewed Teeni through a series of sharp questions and received some fascinating answers.

Teeni joined Facebook in 2014 to build and grow the Facebook local office. She began her professional career in the Israeli Market in 1997 as the CEO of Wall Street Israel. Then, in 2001, she was appointed as the CEO of Kidum Group, and later, in 2008, became the General Manager of the B2C division at 888.com. In addition, Teeni sits on the Board of Ginger Software and was a board member at Perion.

Over the last years, manufacturers had to deal with the economy’s impact on spending as well as changing consumer habits and demands in a world that has gone digital. Therefore, the conference's main discussion revolved around knowing the consumers in the Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) era, as opposed to the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) era.

Teeni argued that in order to drive consumers to purchase technology products, high-tech professionals are simply not enough. According to Teeni, a company also needs professionals who understand the consumers' psychological needs who will then collaborate with creative personnel, in order to create brand images that the consumers can relate to. Her claim was based on the basic realization that behind all the innovation and data - there are human beings.

Obviously, the 'women in the workforce' issue was brought up as well. However, watching these two top businesswomen, sitting on the stage discussing innovation, capitalism and social change - only proves that this shouldn't be an issue at all.
